• The new owners of this ski hill property asked us to help them design and build additional living areas for their large family. They wanted to modernize the home, while maintaining its traditional feel.

  • Two original design elements that needed attention were: (1) a front door that entered directly into the living room; and (2) roof design that encouraged ice damming.

  • We extended the upper dormer to the main roof to stop ice damming in the roof valley, and rebuilt the entrance to make room for a foyer.

  • A magnificent masonry fireplace is the centrepiece of the renovation and focal point to the living room. New windows, timber stairs and re-finished hardwood flooring further tie the design together.

  • This home desperately needed additional light in kitchen and dining areas. We achieved this by adding a large dormer above the dining table, new patio doors and a 'bank' of windows in the kitchen. We also sourced and installed new lighting fixtures.

  • LWE custom-built new kitchen cabinets, and sourced and installed the granite countertops. The dramatic lighting ‘gantry’ hanging above the island is an example of our in-house custom metalwork.

  • A custom made vanity and new shower in the master ensuite were high priorities for the owners.

  • We completely re-finished the basement to address structural concerns and to allow for a new heating system. The renovated space provides a comfortable entertainment area, plenty of room for the family to play.

  • We built a mud room, complete with custom cabinetry, on the lower level to ease the flow of kids and equipment on and off the ski trails.
